Ambling Ride was published as "Steady" until September 2026. The rename changed nothing about how the software handles data.

What this website collects
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
What the Ambling Ride laptop app collects
- In the standard build, sensor data (accelerometer, gyroscope) is processed entirely on the laptop and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Settings changes and comfort feedback you give in the app are stored in a local log file on your laptop.
- During an opted-in pilot, anonymised aggregate comfort scores are shared with your firm (the customer). No raw sensor data is shared.
The Ambling Ride iPhone app (App Store)
The version of Ambling Ride distributed through the App Store collects no data at all. It has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- Motion and location are processed entirely on your iPhone to compute the motion cues, and are never transmitted to us or to any third party. Location is used only while your phone is connected to your laptop, and it never leaves the device.
- The Bluetooth connection carries the motion cue directly from your iPhone to your own laptop. We are not part of that connection and never see its contents.
- Beta versions distributed through TestFlight (outside the App Store) may include diagnostic telemetry and ride recording, switched on only with your explicit in-app consent; those builds show their own consent screen before anything is sent.
Because the App Store version collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, delete or transfer; the corresponding GDPR rights are satisfied trivially.
Research Preview build
If you take part in our Research Preview and give the separate, revocable consent in the app, Ambling Ride records your ride and uploads it to our research server to help us improve the cues. Only motion and speed data leave your device; your GPS coordinates are removed before upload, so your location is never transmitted. The data is pseudonymous (a per-install identifier plus the name you provide) and used solely to tune the product. You can withdraw consent at any time, after which nothing further is uploaded.
